Welcome
| Welcome to the Redlands Democratic Club! The Redlands Democratic Club serves this beautiful and historic city and works hard to increase our elected representatives in all levels of government. Our nation cannot afford another Republican president and Congress. Step up to the plate and volunteer more than in previous years. We will never have such another opportunity if we don't. Please come to our monthly meetings at Denny's on Alabama. Lunch is available but not a necessity for those who would like to just listen. Those wishing to order, please arrive at least 30 minutes early to make it easier for the wait staff to make it through the room. It can get crowded. We are in the process of looking for a new location with more seating. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dues for 2008 are $15 and can be sent to: Redlands Democratic Club 1540 Barton Rd. #227 Redlands, CA 92373 Or bring your check to our monthly meetings. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Celebrating our success in growing the Democratic party There are times when "Singin' the Blues" is a very good thing. Please save Saturday afternoon, October 11, for an event celebrating "San Blue-nardino" Details will follow, but the event will be an outdoor BBQ-style event at Teamsters Local 63, at 379 W. The event is co-sponsored by the Blue County political action committee, 63rd Assembly District nominee Mark Westwood, 41st Congressional District nominee Tim Prince and the Foothill Regional Alliance Democratic Club. A contribution of $5 per person is requested to help Democratic candidates win office in the November election. Preferred seating is available for a contribution of $50 or more, with special VIP packages being offered for $250, $500, and $1,000. State Street in Redlands. For more information you can contact Patrick at (951) 206-8637. Volunteers are needed to staff the office. Our club will provide water and snacks to those who work. Building our e-mail list The club's e-mail list disappeared in a meltdown in my computer. I have opened a new account dedicated for club use only. RedlandsDems@gmail.com Please send your contact info to that mailbox so you get notices of upcoming events. Thanks. Sally Redlands Democrats organize for Obama There is an active group of Obama supporters meeting in Redlands. They have a voter registration booth at Market Night and will be organizing precinct walking and phone banks. For information and to get involved, call Renea Wickman @ 909 534 8029. The contingent of volunteers has bumper stickers, pins and signs available at Market Night. Democrats are making history in San Bernardino County The City of Highland is blue again for the first in over eight years! The number of registered Democrats rose to 8,595 while the number registered Republicans dropped to 8,588 marking this the first time in eight years where Democrats outnumber the number or Republicans in the city as reported by the San Bernardino County Registrar of voters. Highland is the second city in the last two years, following Victorville, that have switched from Republican majority to a Democratic majority. Countywide, the number of registered Democrats cut to 496 more Republicans from what was once a vast Republican majority. Two years ago Republicans outnumbered Democrats by over 38,000. (301,553-301,057) Blue County officials contribute the vast change in the county due to the 2008 Presidential election, the Economy, Gas Prices, and people fed up with Republican corruption on both a Federal and countywide level. Several Democratic clubs, Obama grassroots organizations, and the Southwest Voter registration project are key reasons for the vast change in numbers this last year. Program and speakers start at 1:30 pm. The picnic is a fund-raiser: $10 donation each for adults and $20 for a family. We ask that you bring a dish to share. Burgers, brats and hot dogs will be provided as well as homemade ice cream. Our picnic will be at Ford Park, 1035 Parkford Drive. It's near the 76 station and LA Fitness. For information or to volunteer to help, contact Jack Brennan, event chair, at cell 909-374-6884 or -email-. We need RSVPs so we know how much food to buy for the grill. Help elect Democrats in this historic election Our club registers voters on Redlands Market Night from 5:30 pm to 9 pm Thursdays on State Street in Downtown Redlands. We need volunteers to help man the registration table. The job is easier when it is spread among several people. We are also setting up a registration booth in North Redlands and bilingual volunteers are needed. Please call Bob Wood to volunteer for a specific date(s). His phone number is 794-9277. Or call Jonathan Abraham, 646-821-2434. |
